Throughout the whole process I have learned about how photography was produced and have gain a lot of understanding as well as respect for film photography.
One of my best experiences during the Japan Study Trip 2026 was learning black-and-white film photography and developing photos in the darkroom. It was my first time experiencing the traditional photo development process. In today's digital era, where black-and-white effects can be created instantly, having the chance to develop photos by hand felt very special and memorable. I still remember the smell of the chemicals used in the darkroom while washing and developing the film—it made the experience even more authentic and unforgettable.
After attending the “Visual Storytelling with Your Mobile Phone” training, I realized my smartphone can do much more than just snap-and-go photos.
The simple and easy-to-follow guidance on framing a shot makes a huge difference in how the photos turn out.
