From Creating Images to Developing Visual Storytellers

My journey in photography began in 1995. Over the past 30+ years, I have experienced the industry from different perspectives — as a photographer, studio founder, industry trainer and creative educator.

In 2003, I established hooElse Studio, and in 2011, I began sharing my photography knowledge through training. From 2011 to 2019, I also served as a Sony Alpha trainer for Sony Malaysia. In 2024, I became an accredited HRD Corp trainer.

Today, my focus has shifted from producing photographs for clients to helping others develop the skills and confidence to create their own visual stories.

Through hooElse+, I offer practical photography training and learning experiences for two groups: businesses that want to strengthen their in-house visual content capabilities, and photographers who want to take their craft further.

For businesses, I aim to make photography a practical workplace skill — helping teams communicate more effectively through images while exploring eligible HRD Corp training opportunities.

For photographers, I draw on decades of hands-on experience to help them look beyond camera settings and develop a stronger understanding of light, composition, creative thinking and visual storytelling.

I believe photography is more than taking a good picture. It is about learning to see, think and tell a story.

My mission today is to help more people develop that ability.
